Good Food Bros is a directory of gluten-free information for restaurants and other places that sell food. You can use it without an account, and we don't use advertising trackers or analytics. The only cookie we set is the one described under "Remembering your browser" below, and only if you confirm a report.

What we collect

Diner reports. When you share an experience, we store the place you chose, your answers (how it went, whether there's a gluten-free menu or a dedicated fryer), any notes you write, the time you sent it, and your email address. Please don't put personal details in your notes.

Your email address is used to send you a link to confirm your report, and so we can contact you about that report if we have a question. It is never shown on the site, sold or shared. If you don't confirm within 7 days, the report and your email are deleted. We send these emails through our email provider, which handles your address only to deliver them.

Remembering your browser. When you confirm a report, we save a cookie in that browser so your next reports from it don't need your email again. The cookie holds a random code, not your email; our server keeps the code (scrambled) next to your email. Your browser also keeps a shortened form of your email, like d•••@gmail.com, so the form can show who it's sending as. It lasts a year from your last report. Press "Not you?" on the form, or clear your browser's cookies and site data, to remove it.

Newsletter. If you sign up with the newsletter form, we email you a link to confirm; once you do, we pass your email address to our newsletter service. If you tick the newsletter box on a report, confirming your report also subscribes you to the Good Food Bros newsletter. Our newsletter runs on beehiiv, which stores your address for that purpose. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.

Reports are reviewed before they appear. Approved reports are published on the place's page without your name or email. We keep reports we don't publish as a record of what we reviewed.

Town suggestions. If you answer "Where should we go next?", we store your answers and, if you give one, your email address, which we use only to tell you when we add your town. It is never shown on the site, sold or shared.

Your IP address. When you send a report, our server uses your IP address briefly, in memory, to limit how many reports can come from one connection. We don't save it with your report.

Other services our pages use

• Hosting. The company that hosts this site may log requests (such as IP address, browser and pages visited) for security and reliability, under its own policies.
• Maps. Maps are provided by Mapbox, which receives your IP address, the map area you're viewing and basic usage information when a map loads. On place pages, a map only loads if you press "Show on map".
• Links. Links to restaurants, sources and Google searches take you to other sites, whose own privacy policies apply.

Children

This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Your choices

If you sent a report and want it or your email removed, or have a question about this policy, email team@gfbros.com. Tell us the place and roughly when you sent it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
